Note: The instructions below will walk you through adding modifiers to existing menu items. If you have not yet created Modifier Groups, click here. If you have not yet created Menu Items, click here.
- Go to Menus > Menu Items and click on the item you'd like to edit
- Go to the Modifiers tab and click on Add new modifier group
- Select a modifier group from the dropdown menu and set the Min, Max, and Included amounts
- If applicable, check the box next to Use the Modifier Wizard for this menu item (this will open the modifier options in a new window for the customer when they're ordering and is typically used for menu items with more than 3-4 modifier groups)
- Click on Save Changes
Once you've added modifier groups, you can add pre-selected defaults for each group as well as control which modifiers in each group show up for your customers. Rather than creating separate modifier groups for different menu items within one category, you can create one modifier group and use the Displayed Modifiers feature to uncheck modifiers that aren't included in certain menu items.
For example, if you have three types of smoothies, you can create one modifier group with all of the ingredients for all three smoothies. Two of your smoothies contain banana but the third doesn't, so you would use the Displayed Modifiers feature to uncheck banana from that specific menu item.
